Opinion: A “Technically” Incompetent Chief Justice Of Nigeria

A trending video clip of the senate confirmation hearing of Chief Justice of Nigeria Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad where he betrayed mortifying ignorance of the meaning of the term “technicality” aggrandises the point I made in my April 20, 2019 column titled “Atiku’s Citizenship and Buhari’s Illiterate Lawyers” about Buhari’s love affair with incompetence and mediocrity. I noted that, “The law of attraction says like attracts like, which explains why Muhammadu Buhari is a magnet for mediocrities. Trouble for Sanwo-Olu, as ex-Tinubu, Fashola’s aides pressure for appointments

Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo Olu is certainly in dilemma as former commissioners who have served during the administration of ex-governor Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola are lobbying seriously to get back on board in the coming administration. Sanwo-Olu seems confused as these ‘heavyweights’ scampering for positions in his administration had enjoyed the aura and prestige attached to such positions in the past, in fact, they had made lots of money. Since he defeated his opponent, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, by a landslide in March, many…
